What can Proko-Wall provide after the funeral?
Proko-Wall Funeral Home has a long history of offerring a variety of aftercare programs and support information. It is our goal to be there for a family before, during and after the services.
A library of books and videos can be found in the Proko-Wall resource center and are available to the community. Family members receive a quarterly newsletter with helpful articles, recipes and grief support information. Funeral directors can also provide contact information to families for groups such as Compassionate Friends and Survivors of Suicide.
In December, we host an annual memorial program in remembrence of those who have passed away the previous year. Families get some helpful tips about coping with the holidays and select a special ornament to hang on the tree. The afternoon ends with delicious homemade cookies and a chance to visit with other families surviving the holiday.
Two times a year, widows, widowers, and a guest are invited to take a day trip and share a meal. Past locations include the Foxy Lady, Pumpkin Patch at the Railroad Museum and a day at the theatre. These trips fill up fast and are quite popular.
All of these are in addition to our assistance with veterans benefits, insurance and the registrar of deeds.
Our care does not end with the funeral. It is our honor to continue our service, long after the funeral is done.
